Our relationship with work, sex, and money is a reflection of our relationship with ourselves from "summary" of Work, Sex, Money by Chogyam Trungpa
The way we approach our work, our relationships, and our finances all stem from the same source: our relationship with ourselves. How we show up in one area of our lives is often a mirror of how we show up in others. If we are disconnected from our true selves, it will manifest in our professional endeavors, our intimate connections, and our financial decisions. Work is not just a means to make a living; it is a reflection of how we value ourselves. If we are constantly seeking validation from our jobs, it may indicate a lack of self-worth. Similarly, our approach to sex can reveal our deepest insecurities and desires. If we use sex as a way to seek approval or fill a void within ourselves, it may reflect an underlying sense of unworthiness. Money, too, can be a powerful symbol of our inner landscape. Our relationship with money often mirrors our relationship with abundance and scarcity. If we are constantly chasing after more money, it may be a sign that we feel lacking in some way. On the other hand, if we hoard money out of fear of losing it, it may indicate a deeper fear of not having enough.- Our external circumstances are a reflection of our internal state. By exploring our attitudes towards work, sex, and money, we can gain insight into our own beliefs, fears, and desires. Through this self-reflection, we can begin to cultivate a healthier relationship with ourselves, leading to more fulfilling and authentic lives.
