Seeking forgiveness and redemption from "summary" of Wild by Cheryl Strayed

In the wilderness, I sought something more than just physical endurance. I was seeking a way to absolve myself of the mistakes I had made in the past, to find redemption for the pain I had caused others. The trail became my path to forgiveness, my journey towards healing. As I walked mile after mile, I reflected on the choices I had made that had led me to this point. I confronted the demons of my past, the memories that haunted me and the guilt that weighed me down. With each step forward, I felt myself letting go of the burden of my sins. In the solitude of nature, I found the space to forgive myself. I realized that holding onto my past mistakes was only holding me back from living a full and meaningful life. By acknowledging my faults and taking responsibility for them, I was able to finally release myself from their grip. Through the challenges of the trail, I pushed myself to my limits and beyond. I faced my fears head-on and conquered them one by one. In doing so, I proved to myself that I was capable of change, that I was worthy of redemption. The wilderness became my sanctuary, my place of refuge and reflection. It offered me the opportunity to start anew, to rebuild myself from the ground up. By seeking forgiveness and redemption in the wild, I found a sense of peace and closure that had eluded me for so long.
