Letting go of past baggage and emotional burdens from "summary" of Wild by Cheryl Strayed

As I hiked along the Pacific Crest Trail, I couldn't help but feel the weight of my past dragging me down. Memories of my mother's death, my failed marriage, and my descent into drug addiction haunted me at every turn. I carried these burdens like a heavy backpack, each step a reminder of the pain I couldn't escape. But as the miles stretched on and the wilderness enveloped me, I began to realize that holding on to my past was only holding me back. I couldn't change the things that had happened to me, but I could change how I carried them. I could choose to let go of the weight that was dragging me down, to release the grip that my past had on my present. It wasn't easy, of course. Letting go of years of pain and regret doesn't happen overnight. It takes time and effort, patience and grace.
