Empathy and understanding for fellow hikers from "summary" of Wild by Cheryl Strayed
Throughout my journey on the Pacific Crest Trail, I learned the importance of connecting with my fellow hikers on a deeper level. Each person I encountered had their own story, their own struggles, their own reasons for embarking on this challenging adventure. As I listened to their experiences and shared my own, I found a sense of camaraderie and understanding that transcended our differences. Empathy played a crucial role in these interactions, allowing me to put myself in their shoes and truly comprehend the obstacles they were facing. By embracing these qualities, I not only forged lasting friendships but also discovered a newfound appreciation for the beauty of the human spirit.
