Throughout my journey on the Pacific Crest Trail, I found myself face to face with my inner demons and past trauma. The trail became a place where I could no longer hide from the pain and mistakes of my past. Instead, I was forced to confront them head-on, day after day, step by step. As I hiked mile after mile, the weight of my past weighed heavy on my shoulders. Memories of my mother's death, my failed marriage, and my reckless behavior haunted me like ghosts in the wilderness.
