To fully engage with the present moment, we must let go of any attachments to the past. This is because holding on to past experiences, memories, or regrets can cloud our perception of what is happening right now. When we are constantly replaying old stories in our minds, we are not fully present in the current moment. We are stuck in a cycle of rumination that prevents us from experiencing life as it unfolds before us. Letting go of the past does not mean forgetting or denying our history.
