Acceptance is key to finding peace from "summary" of Where We Belong by Emily Giffin

In life, there are things we cannot change, no matter how much we may wish otherwise. We find ourselves faced with situations that are beyond our control, leaving us feeling helpless and frustrated. It is during these times that we must learn to accept the things we cannot change. This acceptance is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength. It takes courage to acknowledge that some things are simply out of our hands. When we accept the things we cannot change, we free ourselves from the burden of trying to control everything. We release the tension that comes from fighting against the inevitable. Instead, we find peace in knowing that we have done all we can, and the rest is up to fate. This acceptance allows us to let go of anger, resentment, and bitterness. We no longer hold onto grudges or dwell on what could have been.
