Gender inequality is not just a problem for women; it affects everyone. When women are held back because of their gender, society as a whole suffers. Men are also limited by the constraints of gender roles and expectations. They are expected to be strong, stoic, and in control. This limits their emotional expression and prevents them from fully experiencing and enjoying life. In a world where men are taught to suppress their emotions and women are taught to be passive and accommodating, everyone loses out on the opportunity to be their true selves. Gender inequality also affects children, as they grow up internalizing these harmful stereotypes. Boys learn that they should not cry or show vulnerability, while girls learn that they should be quiet and obedient. This perpetuates a cycle of inequality that is harmful to everyone.
