Seeta's abduction by Ravana from "summary" of Valmiki's Ramayana by Anant pai

The great demon-king Ravana, with his ten heads and twenty arms, harbored a burning desire for the beautiful princess Seeta. One day, disguised as a holy man, Ravana approached Seeta when she was alone in the forest. Deceiving her with his cunning words, he kidnapped her and flew away in his magic chariot to his kingdom in Lanka. Seeta, with her heart filled with fear and sorrow, called out for help as she was being carried away by the demon-king. The trees, birds, and animals in the forest echoed her cries, but alas, no one could save her from the clutches of Ravana. The earth trembled, the sky darkened, and the winds howled in protest at the injustice being done to the virtuous princess. Meanwhile, Seeta's husband, the noble prince Rama, who was in exile with his brother Lakshmana, returned to their hut to find Seeta missing. Overwhelmed with grief and anger, Rama vowed to find his beloved wife and bring her back to his side.
