Valmiki's Ramayana is an ancient Sanskrit epic poem composed by the sage Valmiki. It is the story of Lord Rama, prince of Ayodhya, who was sent to exile in the forest. Rama was accompanied by his devoted wife Sita and loyal brother Lakshmana. In the forest, Sita was abducted by Ravana, the demon king of Lanka. After a long battle, Rama was successful in rescuing Sita from the clutches of Ravana and returned to Ayodhya triumphant, where he was later crowned as the king of Ayodhya. Valmiki's Ramayana celebrates the triumph of good over evil and is considered amongst the greatest religious epics of all time.
