Jatayu's sacrifice for Sita from "summary" of Valmiki's Ramayana by Anant pai

In the great epic of Ramayana, the noble vulture Jatayu plays a crucial role in the story by sacrificing himself to protect Sita, the wife of Prince Rama. When Sita is abducted by the demon king Ravana, Jatayu valiantly attempts to rescue her. Despite his old age and weakened state, Jatayu courageously confronts Ravana and fights to save Sita from her captor. As a loyal friend of Rama's father, King Dasharatha, Jatayu feels a deep sense of duty to protect Sita and ensure her safe return to her beloved husband.
