Trusting others is essential for healing from "summary" of Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Trusting others is an essential component of the healing process. Opening up to someone, letting them in; it can be terrifying, like standing on the edge of a cliff, unsure if you'll be caught or fall. But without that trust, without that vulnerability, healing becomes an impossible task. The weight of our struggles can be unbearable, crushing us under their immense pressure. We may try to carry them alone, believing that we are strong enough to handle it all. But the truth is, we all need help sometimes. We all need someone to share the burden, someone to help us navigate the darkness that threatens to consume us. When we keep our pain locked inside, it festers and grows, poisoning every aspect of our lives. It becomes a tangled mess, impossible to unravel on our own. But when we trust someone enough to share our struggles, to let them see the rawness of our wounds, healing can begin. It's not an easy process, by any means. Trust takes time to build, like a delicate flower that needs care and nurturing to bloom. And there's always the risk of being hurt, of having our vulnerabilities used against us. But without that risk, without that leap of faith, we remain stuck in our pain, unable to move forward. In the end, healing is a journey that we must take together. It's about reaching out to others, letting them in, and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable. It's about realizing that we don't have to face our struggles alone, that there are people who care and want to help. And it's about finding the courage to trust, even when it feels like the scariest thing in the world.
