It is also helpful to link the new habit to an existing routine or habit, as this can make it easier to remember and more likely to stick. When we successfully build a new habit, we free up our limited reserves of willpower for other challenges. This is because habits require less mental effort and energy to maintain once they are established. By automating positive behaviors through habits, we can create lasting change in our lives without relying solely on willpower.
