The impact of climate change on animal populations from "summary" of The Wild Ones by Jon Mooallem
Climate change is messing with the animals. It’s confusing them. Throwing off their schedules. Forcing them to migrate to survive. The world is getting warmer, and animals are feeling the heat. Literally. They’re trying to adapt, but it’s not easy. Some are managing to cope, but others are struggling to keep up. The ones that can’t adapt are being left behind. Take the polar bears, for example. They’re losing their icy homes as the Arctic melts. They rely on the ice to hunt for seals, their main source of food. Without the ice, they can’t hunt. They’re starving. They’re drowning. They’re dying. It’s heartbreaking to see these magnificent creatures suffer because of something humans are doing. But it’s not just the polar bears. It’s the birds, too. They’re flying in the wrong directions because the weather is all messed up. They’re showing up in places they shouldn’t be. They’re lost. They’re confused. They’re struggling to survive. And it’s not just the birds. It’s the frogs, the turtles, the butterflies. They’re all feeling the effects of climate change. We need to do something about it. We need to take action to protect these animals. We can’t just sit back and watch them disappear. We have a responsibility to protect them. We have the power to make a difference. We need to change our ways before it’s too late. Before we lose these amazing creatures forever. The time to act is now. Let’s do it for the animals. Let’s do it for the planet. Let’s do it for ourselves.Similar Posts
