As time passed, something inside me changed. I could feel it, like the slow unraveling of a tightly wound thread. It was as if I was watching myself from a distance, observing the person I used to be with a sense of detachment. The girl who once felt so familiar, so sure of herself, now seemed like a stranger to me.
