Future world devoid of beauty, joy, and purpose from "summary" of The Time Machine by H. G. Wells

In the distant future I saw a world devoid of any trace of beauty, joy, or purpose. As I journeyed through this desolate landscape, I noticed the lack of colorful flowers, chirping birds, or laughter in the air. The once vibrant and lively earth had become a barren and lifeless wasteland. The buildings stood tall and imposing, but they were cold and soulless, devoid of any passion or creativity. The people who inhabited this world moved about in a mechanical and monotonous manner, their faces expressionless and their eyes empty. There was no spark of life or light in their eyes, no sense of wonder or curiosity in their hearts. As I wandered through the city, I saw a group of people gathered around a flickering screen, their minds absorbed in mindless entertainment. They seemed to have lost all connection to the world around them, existing in a state of numbness and indifference. It was as if they had forgotten what it meant to truly live, to experience the beauty and joy of the world. I realized that, in this future world, humanity had lost its way. The pursuit of progress and efficiency had come at the cost of the very things that made life worth living. Without beauty, joy, and purpose, life had become a mere existence, a hollow shell of what it once was. And as I gazed upon this bleak and desolate world, I felt a profound sense of sadness and loss wash over me.
