The normalization of violence against animals is a key component in supporting violence against women. This normalization occurs when we view animals as objects to be consumed, controlled, or dominated. When we see animals as mere commodities, we are more likely to treat them with disrespect and violence. This mindset of objectification and exploitation can easily translate to how we view and treat women. The connection between violence against animals and violence against women lies in the dehumanization and devaluing of both groups. By perpetuating the idea that it is acceptable to harm and exploit animals for our own benefit, we are reinforcing a similar mentality towards women.
