Centralized planning, by its very nature, requires a high degree of control and coordination from a central authority. This authority must make decisions on behalf of the individuals within the society, determining what is produced, how it is distributed, and who receives what. In order to enforce these decisions, the central authority must have the power to restrict the freedom of individuals to make their own choices. This leads to a loss of individual freedom, as individuals are no longer able to act according to their own preferences and desires. As centralized planning expands, the scope of individual decision-making shrinks. The central authority takes on more and more responsibilities, leaving less room for individual initiative. This not only restricts the freedom of individuals to make choices in their own lives but also diminishes their ability to innovate and adapt to changing circumstances. When decisions are made at the top and enforced through a system of rules and regulations, individuals lose the flexibility to respond to new information and adjust their behavior accordingly.
