Challenge negative thoughts from "summary" of The Power of Overthinking by Shaune Bosch
When faced with negative thoughts, it is important to challenge them head-on. This means not immediately accepting these thoughts as truths, but instead questioning their validity. One way to do this is by examining the evidence for and against the negative thought. By doing so, you may find that there is actually very little evidence to support the thought, which can help weaken its hold on you. By questioning the validity of these thoughts, considering alternative perspectives, being kind to ourselves, and practicing mindfulness, we can begin to break free from the cycle of negativity that keeps us stuck. It takes practice and patience, but the rewards are well worth it.
