His family decides to get rid of him from "summary" of The Metamorphosis (Legend Classics) by Franz Kafka,David Wyllie
As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous vermin. His family, upon discovering his transformation, reacted with shock and horror. Initially, they tried to care for him, bringing him food and attempting to understand his new form. However, as time went on, their attitudes began to change. They grew increasingly repulsed by his appearance and behavior, and started to avoid him altogether. Gregor's sister, Grete, was the first to suggest that they should get rid of him. She argued that his presence was causing them nothing but trouble and that they would be better off without him. Slowly but surely, the rest of the family began to agree with her. They started to see Gregor not as a member of their family, but as a burdensome creature that needed to be eliminated. Despite Gregor's efforts to communicate with them and show them that he was still the same person on the inside, his family's decision was final. They began to neglect him, leaving him hungry and isolated in his room. Eventually, they even went so far as to bring in a cleaning woman to remove his furniture and belongings, further emphasizing their desire to erase him from their lives. In the end, it became clear that Gregor's family had made up their minds to get rid of him. They saw him as nothing more than a grotesque monstrosity that no longer belonged in their household. With a heavy heart, Gregor realized that he was truly alone, abandoned by the very people who were supposed to love and care for him.Similar Posts
