Grete blossoms after Gregor's death from "summary" of The Metamorphosis (Legend Classics) by Franz Kafka,David Wyllie

After Gregor's death, Grete seems to undergo a transformation of her own. She appears to become more confident and assertive, taking on a leadership role within the family. Her parents rely on her for decision-making, and she is the one who ultimately decides that they must get rid of Gregor's body. This marks a significant shift from the beginning of the story, where Grete was portrayed as timid and dependent on her brother. Grete's blossoming can also be seen in her interactions with others. She becomes more social, inviting guests into the house and playing the violin for them. This newfound confidence is a stark contrast to her previous behavior, where she was often overshadowed by Gregor and overlooked by her parents. Now, Grete is able to express herself and pursue her own interests without being held back. Throughout the story, it is clear that Grete's growth is directly linked to Gregor's death. With him out of the picture, she is free to come into her own and assert her independence. The removal of Gregor from their lives allows Grete to step into the spotlight and take control of her own destiny. In a way, Gregor's death serves as a catalyst for Grete's transformation, pushing her to break free from her past limitations and embrace her true potential.
