Gregor's humanity is forgotten from "summary" of The Metamorphosis (Legend Classics) by Franz Kafka,David Wyllie
Gregor's transformation into a giant insect caused a profound shift in the way his family perceived him. At first, they were shocked and horrified by his new form, unable to comprehend how such a thing could happen. However, as time passed, their initial fear and revulsion turned into something else entirely. They began to see Gregor not as the beloved family member he once was, but as a burden to be tolerated and eventually forgotten. Gregor's humanity became a distant memory to his family as they struggled to come to terms with his new existence. They no longer saw him as a person with thoughts, feelings, and desires, but as a grotesque creature that needed to be hidden away from the world. Their interactions with him became colder and more detached, as they focused on their own needs and desires rather than his well-being. As Gregor's isolation grew, so too did his family's indifference towards him. They stopped trying to communicate with him, instead choosing to ignore his presence as much as possible. The once loving and supportive family that Gregor knew had vanished, replaced by strangers who saw him as nothing more than a nuisance to be avoided at all costs.- Gregor's humanity was completely forgotten by his family. They no longer saw him as a person at all, but as a problem that needed to be solved. Their lack of empathy and understanding towards him ultimately led to his demise, as he was left to suffer alone in his room, abandoned by those who should have loved him unconditionally.
