Sol 6 I was on the surface of Mars, alone. Well, not completely alone. I had the whole crew with me, in spirit. But physically, I was the only person on the planet. And that's when it hit me - I needed to figure out a way to communicate with NASA. With the Hab's comm system fried by the storm, I had to get creative. That's when I remembered the Pathfinder mission. It had a communication system that might still be operational. All I had to do was get to it. So I hatched a plan. I would use one of the rovers to travel to the Ares 4 MAV site, where the Pathfinder was located. Once there, I could hook up the rover to the Pathfinder and establish a communication link with NASA.
