Our emotions are like passing clouds in the sky; they come and go without us having to do anything. Just as we don't try to hold onto a cloud in the sky, we shouldn't try to cling to our emotions. When we hold onto our emotions, we create suffering for ourselves. It's like trying to grasp onto water - the more we try to hold it, the more it slips through our fingers. Emotions are part of the natural ebb and flow of life. They are not permanent, and they are not who we are. We are not our emotions; we are the awareness that observes them. By recognizing the impermanence of our emotions, we can free ourselves from their hold. We can learn to let them come and go without getting caught up in them.
