Blockbuster Video, for example, was once a dominant force in the entertainment industry but ultimately succumbed to the rise of online streaming services like Netflix. The concept of "creative destruction" also plays a role in the idea that success does not guarantee survival. In order for new ideas and innovations to take hold, old ways of doing things must often be discarded. This process can be ruthless, as successful businesses and technologies are overtaken by more efficient and effective alternatives.- The lesson to be learned is that success is not a guarantee of long-term survival. Evolution is a dynamic process that requires constant adaptation to changing circumstances. Those who rest on their laurels and fail to innovate risk being left behind as the world continues to evolve.
