We live in a world where food has become increasingly bland. The fruits and vegetables we once enjoyed for their vibrant flavors have been stripped of their taste in the pursuit of mass production and uniformity. As a result, we find ourselves eating more and more in an attempt to satisfy our cravings for real flavor. When our food lacks the essential taste compounds that our bodies are wired to seek out, we are left feeling unsatisfied. This dissatisfaction drives us to consume larger quantities of food in search of the flavor we are missing.
