Traditional values are being eroded from "summary" of The Death of the West by Patrick J. Buchanan

The erosion of traditional values is a phenomenon that is sweeping across the Western world like a raging wildfire. Everywhere we look, we see the pillars of our society being torn down and replaced with a new set of values that are foreign to us. Our once proud heritage, built on the solid foundation of family, faith, and community, is being chipped away piece by piece. The sanctity of marriage is under attack, with divorce rates skyrocketing and the very definition of marriage being redefined before our very eyes. The bonds of family are weakening, as more and more children are born out of wedlock and raised in broken homes. The concept of personal responsibility is being eroded, as victimhood and entitlement are celebrated and rewarded. Our faith, which has long been a guiding light for our civilization, is now mocked and scorned by the cultural elite. Traditional morality is seen as outdated and oppressive, while hedonism and self-indulgence are glorified. The sense of community that once held us together is fading, as people become more isolated and disconnected from one another. Neighbors no longer know each other, and the bonds of trust and mutual support are fraying. In this brave new world, the values that once sustained us are now seen as impediments to progress. The idea of sacrifice for the greater good is dismissed as old-fashioned and naïve, while individualism and self-interest reign supreme. As we look around us, we see the signs of decay and decline everywhere. Our institutions are crumbling, our culture is in a state of moral freefall, and the very fabric of our society is unraveling before our eyes. If we are to reverse this trend and preserve the values that have made the West great, we must stand up and fight for what we believe in. We must be willing to defend our traditions and our way of life, no matter how unpopular or politically incorrect it may be. Only by standing firm in the face of this onslaught can we hope to turn the tide and save the West from its impending demise.
