Practice acceptance and forgiveness towards yourself and others from "summary" of The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday,Stephen Hanselman

When we talk about acceptance and forgiveness, it's easy to think about others, but what about ourselves? We need to extend that same compassion and understanding to ourselves as well. It's not just about forgiving others for their mistakes, but also acknowledging our own humanity and giving ourselves the grace to learn and grow from our own missteps. Acceptance is about recognizing that we are not perfect, and that's okay. We will make mistakes, we will fall short, but that doesn't make us any less worthy of love and forgiveness. It's about understanding that we are all flawed and that's what makes us human. By accepting ourselves, flaws and all, we can start to heal and move forward. Forgiveness, on the other hand, is about releasing the anger and resentment we may hold towards others. It's about understanding that holding onto that negativity only harms us in the long run. By forgiving others, we free ourselves from the burden of carrying that weight around. But it's important to remember that forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or excusing harmful behavior. It's about letting go of that negative energy and moving forward with a sense of peace. When we practice acceptance and forgiveness towards ourselves and others, we create a space for growth and healing. We let go of the past and focus on the present moment. We release ourselves from the chains of anger and resentment, and allow ourselves to move forward with a sense of peace and understanding. It's not always easy, but it's necessary for our own well-being and happiness.
