The bourgeoisie exploits the working class from "summary" of The Communist Manifesto and Other Writings by Karl Marx,Friedrich Engels
The bourgeoisie, or the capitalist class, is able to exploit the working class due to their ownership of the means of production. This ownership allows them to control the labor of the working class and extract surplus value from it. The working class, on the other hand, must sell their labor power to the bourgeoisie in order to survive. This relationship is inherently unequal, as the bourgeoisie sets the terms of this transaction in their favor. They pay the working class a wage that is less than the value of the goods and services they produce. The surplus value created by the labor of the working class is then appropriated by the bourgeoisie as profit. This process of exploitation is essential to the capitalist system, as it allows the bourgeoisie to accumulate wealth and power at the expense of the working class. The working class is forced to work longer hours for less pay in order to generate profits for the bourgeoisie. Despite their exploitation, the working class is not aware of the true nature of their relationship with the bourgeoisie. They are led to believe that their wages are fair and that their hard work will eventually lead to their own success. This false consciousness perpetuates the cycle of exploitation and maintains the status quo. In order to break free from this cycle of exploitation, the working class must become conscious of their class interests and unite to overthrow the bourgeoisie. Only through collective action and solidarity can the working class achieve liberation from their oppressors and create a more just and equitable society.Similar Posts
