Learning to let go of attachments leads to true freedom from "summary" of The Buddha and His Dhamma by Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar

The Buddha teaches us that true freedom comes from learning to let go of attachments. Attachment to material possessions, relationships, or ideas binds us to the cycle of suffering. When we cling to things that are impermanent, we set ourselves up for disappointment and pain. By releasing our attachments, we free ourselves from these limitations and open ourselves up to a higher state of being. Attachment is a form of craving, which is one of the root causes of suffering according to the Buddha's teachings. When we cling to something, we are not able to see it for what it truly is. The Buddha teaches us that everything in life is impermanent. Trying to hold on to things that are constantly changing only brings us pain. When we learn to let go of attachments, we accept the impermanent nature of life and find peace in the present moment. True freedom comes from being able to let go of our attachments and live in harmony with the natural flow of life. By releasing our attachments, we free ourselves from the burden of expectations. We no longer rely on external sources for our happiness, but instead find contentment within ourselves. This inner peace is the true source of freedom, as it is not dependent on outside circumstances. Learning to let go of attachments is a practice that leads us towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
