My guru taught me the importance of selfrealization from "summary" of The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda

My guru, Sri Yukteswar, imparted to me a profound understanding of the importance of self-realization. He taught me that the ultimate goal of life is to realize the true nature of oneself, to understand the divine essence that resides within each of us. This realization is the key to unlocking our full potential and experiencing true fulfillment. Through his teachings and guidance, I learned that self-realization is not just a philosophical concept, but a practical and transformative process. It requires introspection, self-awareness, and a deep connection with the divine. Sri Yukteswar showed me that by delving deep within ourselves, we can uncover our true purpose and achieve spiritual enlightenment. One of the most important lessons my guru taught me was the power of meditation in attaining self-realization. He emphasized the importance of stilling the mind, focusing inward, and connecting with the universal consciousness. Through regular meditation practice, one can cultivate a deep sense of inner peace, clarity, and self-awareness. Sri Yukteswar also stressed the importance of living a life of virtue and righteousness in order to progress on the path to self-realization. He taught me that by practicing honesty, compassion, and selflessness, we can purify our hearts and minds, and align ourselves with the divine will.
