Death is not the end, but a transition to another realm from "summary" of The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda
In the cosmic scheme, our human consciousness is a mere spark of an infinite flame. It exists within a vast expanse of the unseen, the unknown, and the unknowable. Death, therefore, is not the extinguishing of this spark, but rather a transition to another realm beyond our limited perception. As we journey through the cycles of birth and death, we are like travelers passing through different landscapes. Each incarnation is but a temporary stop on our eternal pilgrimage towards self-realization. The physical body may perish, but the essence of who we are – our soul, our consciousness – remains untouched by the passage of time. The ancient sages and seers understood this truth and sought to awaken humanity to the eternal nature of the soul. They taught that death is not to be feared, but embraced as a natural part of the cosmic dance of life. Just as a caterpillar undergoes metamorphosis to become a butterfly, so too does the soul shed its earthly form to soar to higher realms of existence. Through the practice of meditation and self-realization, we can glimpse the reality beyond the veil of mortality. We can connect with the divine source of all creation and experience the oneness of all beings. In this state of expanded awareness, we realize that death is but a doorway to a greater reality – a transition from the limitations of the material world to the boundless freedom of the spiritual realm.- The journey of the soul is a journey towards unity with the divine. It is a journey of self-discovery, self-transcendence, and self-fulfillment. Death, therefore, is not the end, but a transformation – a stepping stone on the path towards our ultimate destiny. It is a reminder that we are more than our physical bodies, more than our earthly identities. We are eternal beings, connected to the infinite source of all life.
