Offer your full presence to others from "summary" of The Art of Communicating by Thich Nhat Hanh

When we communicate with someone, our most precious gift we can offer is our presence. Being present means giving our full attention and energy to the other person, without being preoccupied with our own thoughts or concerns. It means truly listening to what the other person has to say, without judgment or interruption. When we offer our full presence to others, we create a space for deep connection and understanding to occur. We show the other person that we value them and their thoughts, that we are fully there for them in that moment. This simple act of presence can be incredibly healing and transformative for both parties involved. In order to offer our full presence to others, we must first learn to be fully present with ourselves. This means being aware of our own thoughts and emotions, and learning to let go of distractions and worries. When we are able to be fully present with ourselves, we can then extend that presence to others in our interactions. Practicing mindfulness is a powerful tool for cultivating presence in our communication. By being mindful of our thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the present moment, we can more easily let go of distractions and be fully present with the person we are communicating with. Mindfulness allows us to listen deeply and speak from the heart, fostering a deeper connection with others. Offering our full presence to others is not always easy, especially in a world filled with distractions and busyness. However, by making a conscious effort to be present in our interactions, we can cultivate more meaningful and authentic relationships. When we offer our full presence to others, we are truly honoring and respecting them as individuals, and creating a space for genuine connection and understanding to blossom.
