Prophet Salih warns Thamud from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻUmar Ibn Kathīr

Prophet Salih was sent by Allah to the people of Thamud, who lived in the city of Al-Hijr. These people were given much wealth and abundance by Allah, but they became arrogant and began to worship idols. Prophet Salih warned them to worship Allah alone and to follow his guidance, but they rejected his message and continued in their disbelief. Despite their rejection, Prophet Salih remained patient and continued to advise the people of Thamud. He reminded them of the signs of Allah and the blessings He had bestowed upon them. He warned them of the consequences of their actions and urged them to repent before it was too late. The people of Thamud, however, refused to listen to Prophet Salih and instead demanded that he show them a sign from Allah. In response, Prophet Salih asked them to choose a she-camel from the herd as a sign. Allah then caused a miraculous she-camel to appear from a rock, but the people of Thamud were still not convinced. Despite witnessing this clear sign from Allah, the people of Thamud continued in their disbelief and even plotted to kill the she-camel. Prophet Salih warned them of the punishment that would befall them if they harmed the she-camel, but they ignored his warning and slaughtered the miraculous animal. As a result of their disobedience and rejection of the truth, Allah sent a severe punishment upon the people of Thamud. A mighty earthquake struck their city, destroying everything and everyone in its path. The once prosperous and arrogant people of Thamud were now nothing but a reminder of the consequences of rejecting the message of Allah and His prophets.
