The purpose of this ark was to save the believers and the animals from the impending flood that would destroy the disbelievers. Noah, being a faithful servant of Allah, immediately set to work on constructing the ark as per the divine instructions. The construction of the ark was a monumental task, as it had to be large enough to accommodate all the believers and the various animals that would be saved.
