Birth of Prophet Isa from "summary" of Stories of the Prophets by Ismāʻīl ibn ʻUmar Ibn Kathīr
Prophet Isa was born during a period of great turmoil in Palestine. The Roman Empire had dominated the land, and the Jews were living under oppressive conditions. The people were eagerly awaiting the arrival of a savior who would deliver them from their suffering and restore justice. The birth of Prophet Isa was a miraculous event, as his mother, Maryam, conceived him without a father. Maryam was a pious woman who devoted her life to worshipping Allah. One day, she was visited by the angel Jibril, who informed her that she would give birth to a son who would be a great prophet. Maryam was initially confused by the news, as she was unmarried and had never been with a man. However, she trusted in Allah's plan and accepted her role as the mother of this special child. When the time came for her to give birth, Maryam retreated to a secluded area and experienced intense labor pains. In her moment of distress, she cried out for help, but no one was there to assist her. Despite the challenges she faced, Maryam remained steadfast in her faith and relied on Allah for support. As she gave birth to Prophet Isa, she was filled with a sense of peace and tranquility. Allah provided for her by causing a stream to flow beneath her, which provided her with water and dates to sustain her during this miraculous birth.- And his teachings would ultimately guide them towards the path of righteousness. Prophet Isa's birth was a testament to the power and wisdom of Allah, who can create miracles beyond human comprehension.
