This means accepting that we cannot control everything that happens in our lives, and that trying to cling too tightly to a specific result will only lead to suffering and disappointment.
When we become overly attached to a particular outcome, we set ourselves up for frustration and anxiety. We invest all of our hopes and dreams in a single possibility, without considering the many other potential paths that life could take. This narrow focus blinds us to the beauty and richness of the present moment, as we are consumed by thoughts of what might have been or what could be.
