Reason, my dear friend, is a powerful tool that we possess to guide us through life. It is the faculty that allows us to think, analyze, and make decisions based on logic and rationality. In our pursuit of wisdom and virtue, it is essential that we rely on reason rather than being swayed by our fleeting emotions. Emotions are like wild horses, pulling us in different directions and clouding our judgment. They can lead us astray, causing us to act impulsively and irrationally. When we let our emotions take the reins, we are at the mercy of external circumstances and our own whims. We become slaves to our passions, unable to exercise self-control or make sound choices.
