Releasing the need for approval leads to selfacceptance from "summary" of Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach

When we constantly seek approval from others, we are essentially looking outside of ourselves for validation and acceptance. This need for external validation can be deeply ingrained in us, stemming from childhood experiences or societal conditioning. We may believe that if others approve of us, then we are worthy and deserving of love and belonging. However, this external validation is fleeting and unreliable, as it is based on others' perceptions and judgments, which can change at any moment. Releasing the need for approval involves letting go of the belief that our worth is dependent on others' opinions of us. It requires turning inward and recognizing our inherent value and worthiness, independent of external validation. When we no longer seek approval from others, we free ourselves from the constant cycle of seeking validation and feeling unworthy when it is not received. Self-acceptance is the key to releasing the need for approval. It involves embracing all aspects of ourselves, including our imperfections and vulnerabilities. When we accept ourselves fully, we no longer rely on others to validate our worth, as we know it comes from within. Self-acceptance allows us to be authentic and true to ourselves, without needing to conform to others' expectations or standards. By releasing the need for approval and cultivating self-acceptance, we can experience a deep sense of inner peace and contentment. We no longer feel the need to perform or please others in order to feel worthy and deserving of love. Instead, we can simply be ourselves, knowing that we are enough just as we are. Self-acceptance is a radical act of self-love and compassion, which allows us to live authentically and freely, without the burden of seeking external validation.
