In order to truly address the deep-rooted issues of educational inequity that persist in our society, a fundamental shift in our approach to education is required. This change must be transformative in nature, going beyond superficial solutions to address the systemic inequalities that contribute to disparities in educational outcomes. By transformative change, we mean a comprehensive overhaul of the structures and practices that perpetuate inequality in our education system. This includes reexamining the ways in which resources are allocated, the curriculum is designed, and policies are implemented.
