Recognize intersectionality from "summary" of Culturally Responsive Teaching by Geneva Gay

Recognizing intersectionality involves acknowledging and understanding that individuals belong to diverse social groups that intersect and interact in complex ways. It goes beyond recognizing single dimensions of diversity, such as race or gender, and takes into account how these dimensions intersect and influence each other. For example, a Black woman may experience discrimination differently than a White woman due to the intersection of race and gender. This concept challenges us to move beyond simplistic categorizations and recognize the complexity of individuals' identities and experiences.
