Education should empower marginalized voices from "summary" of Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire

In order to truly liberate individuals from oppression, education must provide a platform for marginalized voices to be heard. These voices, often silenced and disregarded in society, hold valuable insights and perspectives that can challenge the status quo and bring about meaningful change. By empowering these voices, education can pave the way for a more equitable and just society. Marginalized individuals have been systematically excluded from the dominant discourse, their experiences and struggles dismissed or distorted to maintain the existing power structures. Through education, these voices can reclaim their agency and assert their right to be seen and heard. This process of empowerment is not just about giving marginalized individuals a seat at the table—it is about fundamentally transforming the way knowledge is produced and shared. By centering marginalized voices in education, we disrupt the narratives of domination that have kept certain groups in a state of subjugation.
