The crushing weight of poverty, racism, and violence bears down on the lives of the young men in my community, leaving them with few options and even fewer chances for a better future. These harsh realities are a constant presence, shaping their lives in ways both seen and unseen. They are forced to navigate a world that is quick to judge and slow to offer help, where every misstep can have devastating consequences. As they struggle to find their place in a society that views them as expendable, the young men in my community face a daily battle for survival. They are surrounded by the specter of death, whether through violence or neglect, and must constantly be on guard against the forces that seek to drag them down. The burden they carry is heavy, and the toll it takes on them is evident in their haunted eyes and weary expressions.
