Practice moderation from "summary" of Letters from a Stoic by Seneca

The key to a tranquil and content life, my dear friend, lies in the practice of moderation. This principle, so simple yet profound, is at the heart of Stoic philosophy. By exercising self-restraint and avoiding excess in all things, we can achieve a harmonious balance that brings peace to our minds and bodies. Moderation is not about depriving yourself of pleasure or living a life of austerity. It is about finding the middle path between indulgence and abstinence. In our desires, in our emotions, in our actions, we must strive for moderation. For it is in this moderation that we find true freedom and happiness. When we indulge in excess, whether it be in food, drink, or any other pleasure, we become slaves to our desires. We lose control over ourselves and our lives. But when we practice moderation, we are able to enjoy the good things in life without being consumed by them. We are able to savor each moment, each experience, without being driven by insatiable cravings. Moderation is not only beneficial to our physical health but also to our mental well-being. By avoiding extremes in our emotions and thoughts, we can maintain a steady and clear mind. We can approach life's challenges with equanimity and resilience, knowing that we are not easily swayed by the tumultuous tides of passion. In a world that is constantly pushing us to consume more, to do more, to be more, it can be difficult to practice moderation. But it is in this very resistance to excess that we find our strength. By cultivating the virtue of moderation, we can live a life of dignity and self-control. We can rise above the petty distractions and temptations that so often lead us astray. So, my friend, I urge you to embrace the practice of moderation in all aspects of your life. Find the balance that brings you peace and contentment. For in moderation lies the path to true fulfillment and happiness.
