Growing up in the poverty-stricken slums of Alexandra, I learned early on that survival was not a solitary endeavor. It was a lesson ingrained in me by the very fabric of our community - a community bound together by shared struggles and dreams of a better life. In the midst of overwhelming poverty and violence, it was the unwavering support of our neighbors that gave us the strength to carry on.
