Unforeseen consequences of scientific advancements from "summary" of Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
In the pursuit of scientific progress, one must always be prepared for the unexpected. The act of playing God, of manipulating nature to suit our own desires, can have dire consequences that we may not have foreseen. In Jurassic Park, the researchers believed they had everything under control, that they could contain and control the dinosaurs they had brought back to life. But nature is not something that can be controlled so easily. The unintended consequences of their actions soon became clear. The dinosaurs, once thought to be securely contained within the park, began to break free. The very creatures that were meant to amaze and entertain visitors now posed a serious threat to their lives. The researchers had not accounted for the intelligence and adaptability of the dinosaurs, nor had they considered the possibility of their breeding in the wild.
