Morality is a facade from "summary" of It Was All a Lie by Stuart Stevens

The idea that morality is a facade is a difficult truth to face, especially for those who have built their entire identity around the concept of being moral and righteous. It goes against everything we have been taught to believe about ourselves and the world around us. But the reality is that morality is often used as a cover for deeper, more selfish motivations. In the pursuit of power, wealth, or success, individuals and groups will often justify their actions by claiming that they are acting in the name of morality. They will cloak their true intentions in the language of righteousness, using moral arguments to manipulate others and gain support for their cause. This manipulation of morality can be seen in politics, religion, business, and virtually every other aspect of human society. People will use moral language to justify their actions, even when those actions are clearly self-serving or harmful to others. They will twist the concept of morality to suit their own needs, creating a facade of righteousness that masks their true intentions. This facade of morality can be incredibly dangerous, as it allows individuals and groups to deceive both themselves and others. It creates a false sense of security and righteousness, shielding people from the consequences of their actions and preventing them from seeing the harm they are causing. In order to truly understand the concept of morality as a facade, we must be willing to look beyond the surface level of moral language and examine the true motivations behind our actions. We must be willing to confront the uncomfortable truth that morality is often used as a tool for manipulation and control. Only then can we begin to build a more honest and authentic understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
