Moving forward requires us to release the grip the past has on us. It's like trying to run a race with a weighted vest; we won't be able to move as quickly or as freely as we could if we shed the burden of what's holding us back. The past can be a heavy anchor, dragging us down and preventing us from reaching our full potential. Letting go doesn't mean forgetting or erasing the past completely; it means acknowledging it, learning from it, and then releasing its hold on us.
