Forgiveness is essential for healing from "summary" of It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover
Forgiveness is a crucial component of the healing process. It allows us to release the anger and resentment that we hold onto, which in turn frees us from the emotional burden we carry. When we forgive, we are not condoning the actions of the person who hurt us, but rather, we are choosing to let go of the negative emotions that are holding us back. By forgiving others, we are also able to forgive ourselves. Oftentimes, we hold onto guilt and shame for things that are out of our control. When we forgive ourselves, we give ourselves permission to move forward and let go of the past. Forgiveness is not easy. It requires us to confront our pain and acknowledge the hurt that we have experienced. However, by facing our emotions head-on, we are able to work through them and eventually come to a place of peace. When we hold onto grudges and refuse to forgive, we are only hurting ourselves. The negative emotions that we harbor can manifest in physical ailments, mental health issues, and strained relationships. By choosing to forgive, we are able to release these emotions and create space for healing to take place.- Forgiveness is a gift that we give ourselves. It allows us to let go of the past and move forward with a sense of freedom and peace. When we choose to forgive, we are choosing to prioritize our own emotional well-being and healing.
