Love should never hurt from "summary" of It Ends with Us, It Starts with Us Ebook Collection by Colleen Hoover

In relationships, we often hear that love should never hurt. It's a simple concept, really. Love is supposed to be gentle, kind, and nurturing. It's supposed to be the one thing that brings us comfort and joy, not pain and suffering. But what happens when the person we love starts to hurt us? When their words cut us like a knife, and their actions leave us bruised and broken? When the very thing that was supposed to bring us happiness becomes the source of our deepest pain? It's easy to make excuses for the ones we love. We tell ourselves that they didn't mean it, that they're just stressed out or having a bad day. We convince ourselves that it's our fault, that we somehow deserve to be treated this way. We hold on to the hope that things will get better, that they'll change, that they'll realize how much they're hurting us. But the truth is, love should never hurt. It should never make us feel small, or unworthy, or afraid. It should never leave us feeling like we have to walk on eggshells, or tiptoe around their moods. It should never make us question our own worth, or our own value. If someone truly loves us, they will never intentionally hurt us. They will never use their words as weapons, or their actions as a means of control. They will never make us feel like we have to earn their love, or prove our worth to them. They will never diminish us, or belittle us, or make us feel like we're anything less than deserving of love and respect. So if you find yourself in a relationship where love is hurting you, remember this: you deserve better. You deserve to be loved in a way that makes you feel whole, and cherished, and valued. You deserve to be with someone who uplifts you, who supports you, who brings out the best in you. And if you can't find that kind of love within the relationship you're in, then it may be time to let go. It may be time to walk away, and to find the kind of love that you truly deserve. Because at the end of the day, love should never hurt. Love should heal, and uplift, and bring us peace. And that is the kind of love we all deserve.
